Compare the treatment of mental health disorders in the medical
model, the public health model, and the human service model.
The Medical Model focuses on the biological aspects of mental health
disorders. Treatment in the medical model primarily involves medication and
medical interventions. Also, the medical model emphasizes the role of
psychiatrists and other medical professionals in diagnosis and treatment.
Finally, Supporters of the medical model consider symptoms to be outer
signs of an underlying physical issues and believe that by grouping
symptoms and classifying them as a 'syndrome’ the real cause may
eventually be uncovered, and proper medical therapy can be delivered.
The Public Health Model views mental health disorders as a public health
issue. This model emphasizes prevention and early intervention. The public
health model is a community-based approach to illness prevention,
treatment, and the enhancement of wellness. Treatment in the public health
model involves a multi-disciplinary approach, including mental health
professionals and community resources
The Human Service Model considers the social and environmental factors
contributing to mental health disorders. The Human Service Model utilizes an
interdisciplinary approach, focusing on preventive measures, issue
resolution, and remaining committed to improving the overall quality of life
of service populations. The Human Services Model promotes improvement of
the systems for service delivery by addressing not just the quality of direct
services, but also availability, accountability, and collaboration among
individuals and agencies involved in servicing the individual. Treatment
focuses on therapy, counseling, and psychosocial interventions. Finally, The
Human Service Model recognizes the importance of family and social support
in recovery

What is an open-ended question? What is a closed ended question?
Give an example of each. Which is considered a better question and
why?
Open-ended questions encourage detailed responses and allow for further
exploration of a topic, such as "What are your thoughts on your daughters
behavior?" On the other hand, closed-ended questions often raise concise,
specific answers, such as "Did you enjoy our session?". Determining the
effectiveness of each type of question depends on the context and desired
outcome of the conversation. However, open-ended questions are considered
better in our field because they promote critical thinking and encourage
individuals to reflect on their thoughts and experiences. Open-ended
questions can lead to a deeper understanding of an individual's complex
issues. Additionally, they provide an opportunity for individuals to express
their opinions and perspectives, implementing a sense of engagement and
empowerment in the conversation. Open-ended questions are also said to
build trust between the helper and the client.

Why is the multicultural perspective important in the helping
profession?
In today's diverse society, the need for a multicultural perspective in the
helping profession is more crucial than ever. This perspective recognizes and
respects the unique values, beliefs, and experiences of individuals from
diverse cultural backgrounds, allowing professionals to provide effective and
inclusive support to a diverse range of clients. By embracing a multi-cultural
approach, professionals can build trust and understanding and promote a
