Unit 1 Introduction
Greetings everyone,
My name is Whittley, I’m a mother of three beautiful children (2 girls & boy), and my husband and I just
celebrated our 13
th
anniversary. I relocated from Florida to Kentucky two years ago and really enjoying
the environment. I’m attending Purdue Global to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare
Administration, due for graduation this December (Woohooo). I will be re-enrolling to Purdue Global to
obtain a Master’s of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis. . I’ve been in the healthcare field since the
tender age of 15 (roughly 17 years), I’ve always had a love for helping people and knew healthcare would
be the field for my career. My sister and I have also decided on owning an ABA facility. I’ve always
wanted to become a therapist of some sort growing up. I have worked with mentally and physically
challenge people when I entered the workforce in 2004 and would like to keep my focus within that
group of people.
Best wishes to us all this term!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
There are various legal hazards and difficulties that parties need to be aware of when entering into and
carrying out a healthcare contract. Such risks consist of contract breaches, malpractice lawsuits, HIPAA
violations, and non-compliance with laws and regulations. These risks may result in harsh financial and
legal repercussions for the parties concerned, including fines, penalties, and even legal action.
Healthcare contracts should be drafted in a way that ensures they comply with all legal requirements
and are valid (
Ethical Considerations When Drafting and Negotiating Contracts | Maryland State Bar
Association – MSBA
, 2022). Consulting with legal counsel is an important first step. Healthcare contracts
can be intricate and call for specialized legal knowledge =. To make sure that the contract language
complies with all applicable rules and regulations, legal counsel can review it and offer advice (American
Medical Association & American Medical Association, 2023). To avoid misunderstandings or issues in the
future, parties should also negotiate explicit conditions, ensure adequate execution procedures, and
include dispute resolution clauses. Patient care, welfare, and safety should be prioritized by all parties to
prevent ethical problems when fulfilling contract duties. Important ethical considerations include
upholding professionalism, maintaining transparency, and preventing conflicts of interest. Conflicts of
interest must be avoided by healthcare payers and providers in order for them to deliver impartial and
moral care. In order to maintain ethical standards, they need also make sure that the contract promotes
patient care, welfare, and safety (Goodman et al., 2010).
