Health Care Systems
Topic 4
Section Part 2
Using technology, Arizona State hopes to offer its citizens simple and easily accessible
healthcare services through telemedicine and remote healthcare. Patients will be able to
consult with medical specialists remotely thanks to the plan's expansion of telemedicine
capabilities. This will make it easier for people to get treatment, particularly those who live in
rural areas where access to hospitals may be limited. What could have been better is
Handling the Opioid Epidemic: The opioid epidemic has severely impacted Arizona. More has
to be done to combat this problem, including expanding public awareness, improving access
to addiction treatment facilities, and enacting laws to limit the amount of prescription opioids
written.
In general, the section of the Arizona Healthy People 2020 website devoted to enhancing
healthcare access is pertinent to the provision of allied healthcare services because it
emphasizes how critical it is to address health disparities and enhance healthcare delivery
systems in order to guarantee that everyone has access to high-quality medical care.
