Module 1:
Chapter 1
7. The Social Security Act of 1935 was created for the minority classes,
simply that put most in not the best situations. Medicaid was made to
provide health insurance for the poor, with the amount of access that
was available for them. The Medicare and Medicaid bills made the cost
of health care for all individuals skyrocket. The problem with the Social
Security act of 1935 was the cost of health care and demeaning what
was a fair and reasonable ground for individuals that were subject to
the act.

9. Healthy people, was a promotion published by the United States
government in 1979 that had a disease prevention agenda that helps
the CDC from time to time. It consisted of three components:
preventative services, health protection, and health promotion. This
allowed health education to expand very quickly. In 2010, Healthy
People 2020 was published in which they updated areas of Healthy
People to match with the current problems that were being observed in
the healthcare industry and other places where hospice is also
involved. It is also important to educate people about health care
because it helps individuals love a better life.

Chapter 2
1.
The World Health Organization's definition of health is as a state
of complete physical, mental and social well-being. It is also
important to know that health is more than just the absence of
mental illnesses or disabilities (2005). It is almost impossible to
achieve complete health because unknown illnesses such as
cancer and diabetes are present in more than half of the
country’s bloodlines. I know this is true because my family has
cancer in our blood but it’s only a problem if one smokes
cigarettes or has a poor diet, so I chose to eat better and not
have any issues with my health.

The 8 dimensions of health are: Physical, Emotional, Spiritual,
Financial, Environmental, Occupational, Social, and Intellectual.
Personally the first one that stuck out to me the most as a college
student myself was the environmental impact. Only because
whenever I’m walking around campus or sitting in the classroom
with a hundred students, it feels very different from high school,
and my younger years of schooling. I grew up having more
connections with people where we thought together to reach a
conclusion but college is different, where it feels like it’s everyone
for themselves. Which encourages the other two that connect
with college students the most, the intellectual competent, with
you being by yourself and being smart enough to do the work
without a peer over your should helping you out. Then the other
one being social, where even if the classroom is full, it feels
empty due to no one interacting with one another.
Chapter 3
6. Ethics is the study of moral behaviors, and it is one of the three
major areas of philosophy. Within the last month I have endure a few
ethical dilemmas that changed my life. First one being when I had to lie
for my nephew when he didn’t clean his toys so he would be able to go
outside for his birthday, which felt awkward in many ways but i
decided to deal with it because it was his birthday. Second dilemma
happening when I had to change my clothes just to come to my own
house, but with ethical reason, I haven’t lived there in a while due to
me traveling but had to reintroduce myself to my family and why I
came back home. Last one being where I had to lie to my dad when I
said I didn’t wear his shoes but personally I felt as if my shoes were too
dirty but ethically, I shouldn’t have worn them because I then had to
clean them until they looked brand new because I got caught with scuff
marks.
