Staffing Needs Page 2 Staffing shortages are happening everywhere in the country and in the healthcare field it seems to be even worse especially since the Covid pandemic. It has been deemed important to our facility to make sure that we have the allotted patient support staff on hand, to be able to create the best patient care experience possible. The goal or purpose of negotiating these staffing contracts, is to make sure that we are able fill the need of an open and or current positions within the need of this organization. Our organization takes pride in honoring the need of qualified staff to provide the best quality of care for our patients to keep a healthy community. What is a healthcare staffing agency? An agency that fulfills a staffing service that will find qualified healthcare candidates for companies looking to fill vacancies in hospitals and other healthcare institutions ( Healthcare Staffing Agency contract, 2023) is the goal of a healthcare staffing agency. Other organizations have used contracted workers in healthcare-based centers and hospitals for plenty of years. Whether you are searching for travelling nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, or other healthcare personnel such as medical billers to assist with backlogs in claims that need to be submitted, nursing staff shortage needs and other necessary roles to help support all medical staff. Within our organization, temporary employees are very important to us because it allows us be able to create a position within our organization to be filled, all while maintaining a relationship between the employer and the temporary employee. Having the ability to have these contract employees, will allow our organization to grow by
Staffing Needs Page 3 recruiting the necessary staff needed by a staffing agency and find us the best matches for job candidates while still being able to keep our own staff happy at our facilities. If our organization registers with a staffing agency, it gives more potential in making the proper connections with multiple agencies for the best qualified candidates. We are looking to hire two candidates that are qualified to fill two open positions. All willing candidates must be able to complete the following requirements that are listed below. The purpose of negotiating with a staffing agency is to save time and money. Maintaining a reserve capacity may be relatively inexpensive if hospitals have access to temporary staff, because hospitals can then avoid paying the high fixed cost of employee benefits and do not pay for unneeded hours of work. Thus, it may be cost- effective for hospitals to make use of agency personnel, even though the hourly rate is higher than baseline wages for in-house regular staff (Seo and Spetz, 2013). Overall, bringing on two temporary contracted employees will be financially beneficial to the hospital because it cuts the cost of hiring a permanent employee with benefits. For short-term occasions, it is generally more cost efficient to hire a temp. Fees associated to be paid The contracted employee understands that he/she must abide by state regulations concerning contracted fees and taxes. Certain benefits included in the fee will be worker's compensation, social security, Medicare, state and federal unemployment insurance, and FMLA (family medical leave act). In addition to any fees

Once our company has placed a company with a temporary employee, a service fee will be included for every hour their assigned employee works at our hospital. This hourly fee of 14% helps with all the direct costs associated with finding and placing you with an employee for your facility. These fee helps pay for all required and mandatory testing and background checks we must preform to ensure that the employee is deemed appropriate by the federal and state laws. Roles and responsibilities The roles and responsibilities the employees are expected to perform relating to the admission's department of the hospital includes: Perform all admitting activities such as the ability to greet all patients in a kindly and friendly manner. Being able to conduct patient interviews to obtain required information all within the HIPAA guidelines. Make sure to notify the nursing unit lead of patient arrivals. Being able to conduct patient history and taking vitals upon arrivals. Can prepare and distribute various admission forms. Obtaining required signatures for treatment by medical staff and billing purposes. Making sure that you serve as a patient liaison with insurance companies regarding the admission of their patient and can log all vital information into the electronic health record. Completing daily inquiries regarding admitting procedures, hospital regulations, guidelines, and services; refer inquires to appropriate department or person in charge. Making sure you have the ability to prepare admission reports for the director of admissions. Keeping all areas of the hospital are kept clean and sanitized and making sure you follow all OSHA regulations and guidelines.
