The article emphasizes the significance of self-reflection and shared reflection in professional practices, and these principles can be effectively applied to enhance ongoing child assessment practices. In the first
step, incorporating regular individual self-reflection sessions into our child assessment routines can provide us with valuable insights into our own biases, assumptions, and approaches when assessing children's development. I will be encouraged as an educator to observe and remember interactions, think about how personal experiences may influence assessments, and identify stressors related to the assessment process, we create opportunities for continuous improvement in our assessment methods.
The next step is fostering a culture of shared reflection within the assessment team can significantly contribute to the quality of child assessments. Establishing regular team sessions where I as an educator can openly discuss their reflections on assessment practices can lead to a better understanding of diverse perspectives. This collaborative approach promotes thoughtful listening, helps identify alternative strategies for assessment, and allows for the creation of action plans to refine assessment techniques. Shared reflection not only enhances the professional development of individual educators but also contributes to the collective growth of the assessment team, ensuring a more comprehensive and equitable approach to child assessment.

Strategy 2: Peer-Assisted Reflective Discussions
Creating a culture of peer-assisted reflective discussions within the assessment team is another valuable strategy. Establishing regular team meetings dedicated to sharing reflections on assessment experiences promotes a collaborative learning environment. During these discussions, team members can openly share their successes, challenges, and the strategies they employ in assessments.
