The impacts of colonisation and how this has affected the health and socio-economic status of Australian Indigenous people is also a key part of the rationale for this assignment, and the practical element of culturally safe practice. Task Description You are required to write an 1800-word essay that discusses your understanding of Indigenous Health, identifies stages of colonisation and discusses the impact of institutional and systemic racism on Indigenous people’s access to culturally safe healthcare. You will also consider and reflect on your own role as a health professional through identifying key points of your learning and how you will apply culturally safe healthcare within your own practice. Task Instructions You are required to write a scholarly essay in response to the following: The ongoing health status of Australian Indigenous people continues to be a highlighted issue in the Australian health sector.
