America’s Gilded Age is referred to as Gilded because of the rapid expansion of manufacturing and great economic growth. Many of the regions saw great expansion of manufacturing, mining, railroads which caused economic growth and for many to get rich. Now in an urban world more than half of Americans worked for wages and created a working class. One of the best examples of this was in New York as it was an industrial city whose banks and stock exchange sponsored industrialization and expansion 3. Explain what the progressive era was in American History? a. In the early 20th century progressivism was everywhere all around the world. The age of time was when many new reforms came about socially and politically. These changes came from the issues that occurred during the rise of industrialization and the economic growth that the U.S. that had caused a lot of corruption and wrongful distribution of wealth. 4. How did the United States get involved in World War I? a. in the summer of 1915 Germany had sank a British boat that had 124 Americans on it, making Americans as well as the president outraged, causing them to make preparations to go to war. They had sided with the British as they thought Germany was anti-liberty. This had scared Germany enough to stop the naval warfare so that way the U.S. would not be involved.
