Choose the Fourth, Sixth, or
Eighth Amendment
Amendment:
I Chose the Fourth Amendment
.
Summary:
In 100–150 words, summarize the
amendment you chose. Be sure
your summary includes all rights
given to citizens in that particular
amendment.
Summary: The fourth amendment is basically the rights we have, as a citizen,
unless a law official has probable cause which means a warrant issued by a judge,
that also believes a crime has been a committed, or will be committed based on
facts and important information. If you voluntarily give consent, you are giving
your rights up and allowing law officials to search and seize your property and you
may be subject to arrest if they find anything.
Citizens’ Rights:
Identify a real-world example of
where citizens’ rights under the
Bill of Rights may not be
guaranteed. (Clearly explain where
citizens’ rights could conflict with
the intention of criminal justice
professionals to ensure safety.)
Citizens’ Rights:
The fourth amendment is not guaranteed. Let’s say the police has
a warrant to search your car, but then ends up searching your house. Well, that’s
unreasonable and that’s a violation to your fourth amendment, because they only
had a reasonable cause to search your car but not your house especially without a
warrant signed by a judge. That will be thrown out in court with any evidence they
retrieved from your house, because that was a violation of your right .

which law officials have to have a reasonable cause, or a warrant to Search a
person's property.
The 4th amendment exclusionary rule does not allow illegally
obtain evidence to be used in court, and it puts law officials
at risk to have that evidence thrown out because it was
unreasonable and violated that person’s rights.
The fourth amendment protects individuals because search
warrants have to be issued solely for the purpose of probable
cause Where there has to be enough evidence to believe a
crime has
been committed or going to be committed.
