You may want to test your knowledge by interacting with peers or asking your instructor for clarification. 1. Values, Attitudes, and Self-Awareness. Which idea presented in this module presented the strongest reaction to your existing views or beliefs about the past? Describe the idea and why it clashes or reinforces what you already believe. I believed that slaves were only laborers and enslaved by white people in this age. However I learned that slaves not only were able to have an entire family, but some were even owned by their own race or kind. Some slaves even had a religion to believe in and missionaries were allowed to minister to them as well, and I was not aware of that. 2. Muddiest Point: Which idea presented in this module is the most confusing and why? Explain what you find challenging about the idea. The idea that confused me the most was the unification of the white against the blacks. Because all of the white people came together, even if they were divided, to stand up against a different tone of color.
