Module 2 Short Responses – Question 1 What types of primary and secondary sources will you need to use to support the topic you are examining in your essay? You don't need the actual sources yet, but you should have an idea of what they might be (such as an eyewitness account of an event, for example). Some secondary sources would be books written by historians. I found one called "The Great Depression: 1921-1941". There was also a book containing letters that were written by people alive during the depression. For primary sources, I would refer to the letters in the book I just mentioned and I would look for newspaper articles from that time period. Module 2 Short Responses – Question 2 What are two or three keywords you could use to look for sources to answer this question? A few keywords I would use are: Brooklyn, Bridge, Sandhogs Module 2 Short Responses – Question 3 What subject terms can you use to continue your search? I would use subject terms like Tunnels, Labor Unions, Construction, and New York City. Module 2 Short Responses – Question 4 When you search for "construction," you get a lot of extraneous answers. What [?]Boolean operators[/?] and corresponding search terms could you use to narrow your search? Some Boolean operators that could help are Construction AND Labor Unions. New York City AND Labor Unions AND Tunnels.
