(2 pts)    The anaconda plan was the plan made by the North to slowly squeeze the south and drain its will to fight. This included blockades and surrounding the south with troops. The south saw this plan as unchivalrous and against conventional warfare.     2. Describe what Lee’s “offensive-defensive” strategy was during the Seven Days’ Battles (2 pts)    The plan was to set up side defensives to hold off union troops while further north a group would attack making a hole allowing for a two sided battle     3. This Union officer came to fame after his victories at Forts Donelson and Henry (2 pts) Ulysses Grant   4. Did maritime strategies and centralization play any part in the Battle of Shiloh? Explain (2 pts)    This was a crucial link for the north and the south. The Tennessee river was lost by the confederates and gave the north more of a foothold in the south. With this the north could more easily supply and constrict the south.  
    5. Give an example of how newspaper propaganda affected the early stages of the CW (2 pts) The Richmond bread riot was a piece of propaganda the north used to show how the south is ill equipped to handle the stress of a nation. The union newspapers published this and dramatized it, but the southern papers didn’t at all.
