Q2.
Discuss
the
key
vapproaches
in
the
campaign
for
early
civil
rights,
as
discussed
in
the
documentary,
“Early
Civil
Rights:
Washington
or
DuBois?”
v
After
analyzing
the
documentary,
|
was
able
to
determine
the
different
approaches
highlighted
by
Washington
and
DuBois
on
early
civil
rights.
DuBois
was
the
first
A.A
to
earn
a
PHD
from
Harvard
and
a
founding
member
of
the
NAACP.
This
organization
relentlessly
campaigned
to
bring
attention
to
inequality,
expose
lynch
mobbing,
and
Jim
crow.
This
campaign
approached
confronted
many
regulations
like
President
Wilson
firing
of
A.A
employees,
banning
misogyny
films,
and
ending
the
grandfather
law.
In
retrospect,
another
approach
taken
for
civil
rights
was
by
Booker
T.
Washington.
Washington
was
the
first
A-A
president
of
the
Tuskegee
institute.
His
opposition,
which
gained
a
lot
of
traction
and
support,
was
that
confronting
things
would
only
make
it
worse.
His
approach
was
for
A.A
to
go
slow
and
focus
on
self-improvement
in
order
to
educate
themselves
so
that
they
were
no
longer
seen
as
second-class
citizens.
Although
Washington
and
Dubois
did
not
agree
on
the
same
routes
to
take
to
achieve
equality
for
A.A;
which
laterled
to
the
Niagara
Movement
being
formed,
they
shared
a
common
goal
which
was
to
defeat
political
and
social
oppression.
.
What
definition
of
"urban"
did
you
glean
from
the
articles
qnd
videos?
What
is
the
relationship
between
the
industrial
revolution
and
urbanization?
