Write a sentence or two summarizing what degree you are working toward here at SNHU and why you chose this field. b. Write a sentence or two summarizing the type of career you want to have after earning your degree at SNHU. c. Write a sentence or two summarizing what you hope to do with your degree and how it will benefit you, your family, and/or your community. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. I love working with and for people in the automotive industry and obtaining a bachelor's degree will propel me forward. I continue a career in the automotive industry but look forward to moving towards a non-customer facing position with the opportunity to engage more with my employees and build a culture from within that promotes positivity, workmanship, respect, and comradery amongst one another. I know my current dealerships will benefit from lower turnover, better efficiency, and customer service (service) and increase profits in the service and sales/parts departments by incorporating the P.O.W.E.R acronym into daily routines and responsibilities. 2. Write three academic goals relating to your academic personal mission statement that are achievable in the next six months (short-term). Include how/why these goals will help you be successful in achieving your academic personal mission statement. a. Goal #1: Ensure my assignments are in line with the rubric and they are turned in before the deadline. i. How/Why? I have incorporated a weekly planner with my work schedule, home schedule, and assignments. This has led and will continue to lead to a more efficient use of time and provides me with time to re-evaluate my work before submitting it. Continuing to complete my assignments on time will allow me to review and re- evaluate my work (R in the POWER acronym). b. Goal #2: Continue to use my social and academic supports i. Leaning on my fiancé (who is also a student at SNHU) has been incredibly helpful because he acts as a sounding board and encourages me when I am “stuck”. I also plan to use the tutoring and Shapiro Library as I dive into courses that will require in-depth assignments that will require cited sources. c. Goal #3: Complete each class with a final grade of an A- or higher.
i. It is important to me to set an academic precedent for my daughters. By completing my assignments on time and using the supports that are available to me, I will reach that goal with this class, and each one after.
