Task instructions
The assessor will use the criteria outlined in the following tasks to determine if you have satisfactorily completed this assessment event. Follow these instructions to ensure you demonstrate the required knowledge and skills.
Setting the scene
You are a trainer assessor working in a registered training organisation (RTO) called Solid RTO, which provides training to individuals and organisations.
In Assessment 2: Project you designed and developed plans for vocational training for one of
Solid RTO’s client’s, Portside Council.
In this assessment you are going to design and plan training for a different unit of competency to the one you used in Assessment 2: Project
.
You have 2 options:
Option 1
Use the Solid RTO client files for Portside Council and develop another applicable unit
of competency.

OR Option 2 Use your workplace or organisation.
Use your workplace or an organisation you are familiar with which has a training need for a group of learners.
This will require you to identify objectives and intended outcomes of the training and
select and use appropriate nationally recognised training products. You may need access to information contained in the following workplace documents:

a training and assessment strategy (TAS)

You may choose to identify your own target learner group and use a workplace document conveying their needs and characteristics.
Part 1: Design and develop plans for training another unit of competency
Read all instructions carefully and complete all requirements of the assessment. In addition, refer to the Checklist
that your assessor will use to assess your performance and record your
results.
Your assessor will use the 6 tasks
in this assessment, to determine if you have satisfactorily completed this assessment event. Read all instructions carefully and complete all requirements of the assessment. These are the 6 tasks in this assessment that need to be submitted:
Task 1
: Vocational training plan overview.
Task 2
: Determine learner characteristics and support strategies.
Task 3
: Design a plan for vocational training.
Task 4
: Review and confirm your vocational training plan.
Task 5
: Evaluate existing learning resources.
Task 6
: Develop session plans.
For both Option 1 and Option 2, all 6 tasks must be submitted.
