DAT 520 Module One Lab Worksheet Interacting With Visualizations in Power BI Overview In this lab, you will become familiar with Power BI. You will be introduced to several data visualizations and asked to answer questions related to them. Please make sure to review the DAT uCertify Student FAQ document before attempting to complete this lab. Instructions First, open Lab 1.1.1. Interacting with Visualizations in Power BI in uCertify. Follow the instructions to open the “MyFootprintSports_1” Power BI reports. Then, complete the activity below and replace the bracketed text with the relevant information. Please note: This assignment will be submitted and graded in Brightspace 1. Navigate to the Establishment Data tab and expand the bar graph. Select Manufacturing from the key at the top. During which month was Manufacturing below zero? August 2018 2. Staying in the expanded view of the Establishment Data tab’s visualization, complete the following: a. Change the chart from a bar graph to a line graph. b. Remove all five variables from the value section. c. Add Average Hourly Earnings, Utilities, Education and Health Services, and Transportation and Warehousing to the values section. d. Take a screenshot of the visualization you have created and insert it below.
e. Describe what insights you see from looking at this visualization. All values follow similar trends except the avg hourly earnings. They all start higher, drop in July and rise again in June. 3. Navigate to the Sales by Region and Category tab and expand the stacked bar chart that displays the sales by category and subcategory. Open the filter section and apply a filter so that the stacked bar chart displays only those categories and subcategories with sales less than $30,000. a. Take a screenshot of the new visualization.
