SNHU 107 Module Two Journal Template Complete all parts of this template by replacing the bracketed text with your responses. Submit for grading and feedback. See the Module Two Required Resources section for support with this assignment. 1. What is your preferred receptive learning style? Choose from the following (you may choose more than one): Read/write learning style Visual/graphic learning style Auditory/verbal learning style Tactile/kinesthetic learning style How will understanding your learning style help you support your success inside and outside of the classroom? My preferred learning style is a visual/graphic learning style. Being able to see a visual representation of what it is I am learning makes it easier for me to recall important aspects of my course material within the classroom. This allows me to be more productive, by being able to remember things quicker or being able to go back to the representation to be more thorough in my studies. Similarly, outside of the classroom I would be able to implement the information learned from a visual representation and apply it to improve my performance on the job or gain a new point of view on how to do a task more efficiently. 2. Identify a problem-solving technique or method you have used in a previous situation and explain how it worked for you. Identify how these methods might look different in diverse cultures or different fields of work. I have had to walk away or take a break from problems while operating my machine on the job numerous times. I found out that coming back to it with a fresh mind instead of being frustrated helps tremendously. It gives me an opportunity to look at the problem from a new perspective and usually solve it quicker and easier than if I had kept trying while I was frustrated. To someone who solves problems differently it may look like I have given up on trying to solve the problem. They may theorize or use a mathematical equation to get the same result in solving the problem. 3. How do you plan to stay organized or prioritize your SNHU study time? I plan to prioritize my study time by making sure I log into Brightspace early in the week, preferably Monday mornings before I leave for work. Doing this will give me an idea of what I need to focus on for the week and how I need to schedule my course work out. I plan to do the bulk of my studies on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. as I have no other obligations on those afternoons. I would also like to dedicate at least an hour of study time on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. Saturday Mornings I plan to use to look over, revise, and finish assignments if needed. I want to use Sundays as my leisure day, if possible, other than submitting assignments if I have not done so already. I also plan to have a daily planner to write down what I want to
accomplish for each day to keep my time as organized as possible. I have also downloaded the Brightspace Pulse app on my phone as it sends out a notification of when things are due, just to have another added step to ensure that I am completing my assignments in a timely manner. 4. List the five habits of successful SNHU students. Refer to the “5 Habits of Successful SNHU Students” infographic linked in the Module Two Resources section. Strive to submit all assignments. Log in early. Engage often. Use the rubric. Reach out for help. 5. Choose two of the five habits of successful SNHU students that you feel would be most helpful in prioritizing your study time while at SNHU and explain why. Refer to the “5 Habits of Successful SNHU Students” infographic linked in the Module Two Resources section. I believe that logging in early would be greatly beneficial in prioritizing my study time. It would allow me to start scheduling out my course work for the week and to know when deadlines are for my assignments. This should give me ample time to make sure I have done quality work and have assignments turned in on time. Using the rubric will also help as I can see what is expected in each assignment then using it as a checklist to ensure I have hit all the key elements within each assignment. Using these two habits as a sort of foundation, I believe, will keep me on track each week throughout the remainder of this course and future courses.
