Resource Assignments
The duration changed and work remained the same in Microsoft Project because Microsoft Project uses fixed unit by default. The assignment took longer to complete when the resource units were altered, but the overall amount of work stayed the same. It just depends on how advanced the task is; for the same reason that boiling one egg for ten minutes also boils five eggs for ten minutes.
Project Cost
Total Project cost is $36,000.00. The total work hours multiplied by each resource's hourly rate must be added up to determine the project's overall cost. If resource assignments or task durations vary while the project is being carried out, the overall project cost could also alter. For instance, if a work takes longer than anticipated, more resources can be needed, raising the cost of the project.
Project Statistics
Microsoft Project's Project Statistics dialog box offers details about the project, including its total duration, work, and cost. It also lists the critical path, task count, and resource count. A summary of the project's status and progress can be obtained by including a screenshot of this dialog box.
