From: Murphy, Kaelyn (Lead Project Manager- Optimum Way Development, INC.) Sent: Thursday, August 3, 2023, 7:51:51 PM To: Doe, John (Director- Optimum Way Development, INC.) Subject: Application Project: Missed Milestone Mr. Doe, I apologize for the late-night email but due to your traveling, I have been unable to reach you via phone call or face-to-face. I hope all is going well with your traveling. I am reaching out to provide you with a vital update on the application project that I am overseeing. The development team has missed the most recent major milestone in completing the application due to a bug within our coding. The bug was noticed by one of our new team members a week ago but was not brought to my attention until this morning. I take full responsibility for the oversight and have been working diligently with other team members to correct the bug that currently exists. We have a fix in place that we are going to test tomorrow morning. If all goes well with the test, we will resume moving forward with the application development. Due to pulling team members from other areas of the project to develop the fix, we are behind a week overall. I have a meeting set for tomorrow with all team members to discuss the importance of speaking up when an issue is found. The agenda for the team meeting will also cover the importance of working as a team, sharing knowledge with each other, and setting new mini deadlines to verify we don’t fall further behind. The goal of the meeting is to ensure all members of the team understand the impact of missing a milestone and to motivate the team to work smarter, not harder. Our team takes pride in our work and our ability to persevere. We will continue to put our best foot forward and work hard to get back on track for meeting future milestones. This setback only provides us more motivation to continue to work diligently to get this project back on track and completed on time. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. Thank you for your time and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Kind Regards, Kaelyn Murphy Lead Project Manager | Optimum Way Development, INC.
