4.3 Fingerprint Lab - Option 2

Introduction:
In this lab you will investigate the three classes of fingerprints and identify defining characteristics of
each class of fingerprint. You will then take a look at how fingerprint technology has developed in recent
years and learn how fingerprint technology can be spoofed by criminals.
Procedure:
Part 1: Open the fingerprints technique manual and answer the following questions:

What are the 3 fundamental characteristics of fingerprints? (1 point)
The three fundamental characteristics of fingerprints are:

A fingerprint will remain unchanged during an individual's lifetime

Draw a cross section of human skin and label the following parts: Ridge Island, Sweat Pores,
Epidermis, Papillae, Dermis, Duct of sweat gland, sweat gland, and Nerves of touch. (5 points)
3.
Draw an example of an arched fingerprint. (5 points)
