10-1 Discussion-Post Implementation
The Post Implementation Review (PIR) is conducted after completing the project. In performing a Post-Implementation Review, the project manager looks to evaluate whether the project objectives where met, determine how effectively the project was run, to learn lessons for the future, and ensure that the organization gets the greatest possible benefits from the project. Keeping these points in mind,
First Five Days
Review Key Documents in order to access the projects planning process and any actual benefits achieved through the project.
Data Collection--use interviews and surveys of the end users of the application and the client. Test the deliverable myself, to make sure to get firsthand information.
Provide any additional training and technical assistance.
Glitches-- If glitches arise, work to fix them.
Data Backup--make sure data backup is in place and is reliable.
First Four Weeks
Enhance and refine--based on the data being collected, I would fix any glitches, Improve features might need improvement and add new features that would enhance the system.
Deliver additional training as new users sign up, users have issues or just need additional training.
Make sure that friends and/or family can login successfully in order to track their favorite
runner.
Continue prepping for race day by monitoring the system by test runs to check the load.
Refine reports to give fantastic insights to runners and organizers.
Security enhancement--security being a key area to monitor and tweak as the system continues to provide users with access.
The first six months
Evaluate project objectives and whether they have been met.
Determine if the project was run effectively.
What lessons have been learned for future projects, which will assist the organization in moving forward next season.
Close out the season, verify that every runner has received a detailed look at their stats and how they performed throughout the season.
Preventive maintenance go through the system with a fine tooth comb is required in areas where trouble is likely to occur. By performing preventative maintenance the system has decreased down time, reduce TCO, and increased customer satisfaction.
