Reflective Report What have I done? (Relate to Tasks/Activities in your learning agreement form.) After researching data onto different sites, I was going to work on the data of heart disease in the patient of the Cleveland database. But after consulting with my supervisor, I decided to work on the data of Nepal so it can be useful for the country. After many explorations of the data, I was impressed by the data of the Post-Disaster Recovery Framework (PDFR) 2016 from the open data Nepal. So, I decided to research the information of the PDFR published by The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). LO1: Before doing data analysis, the planning of the project was done. The initial plan was to break down the tasks and activities into simple and small portions. At first, the research was done to decide the data set and different tools and techniques for data analysis. LO2: From the research, I found that a year after the devastating earthquakes of 25 April and 12 May 2015, the earthquake influenced assembling, creation, and exchange agribusiness just as the travel industry and different territories of the division. In this way, The National Reconstruction Authority propelled the recuperation program, by first, doing various exercises focused on restoring a feeling of commonality in quake influenced territories From the data of the PDFR, I am going to analyze and visualize the data. LO6: After selecting the dataset, I learned about R programming during the period. I installed the RStudio and learned the basic syntax of R programming. I learned to read the csv file in the RStudio. What I did well (Refer to Skills/Knowledge Used.) Data collection was the one I did well on as I already knew the different data collecting sites. I had more ideas on the data set that what kind of data I needed on this intern period from the past experience of my previous semester.

What I could improve on? (i.e. Skills/Knowledge I want to improve.) Programming skills is one of the skills I will improve upon upcoming days by practicing regularly. As it is important for speeding up the input and output processes in a machine. How will I improve? (Explain how you will improve Skills/Knowledge in short term and in long term – make goals SMART.) Specific: Learn R programming so that I can analyze the data set. Measure: I will know this goal is complete when I have finished the data analysis and visualization. Achievable: To achieve this goal, I have been learning the R programming from eduonix. Relevant: With the programming background it is a more realistic target to me. Timing: 15 th May 2020 to 7 th April 2020. Does my Supervisor agree? (What does your Supervisor think of your action plan?) Yes, he agrees to research and programming skills. As per his supervision, he thinks it is important to know more about the dataset I am doing and implement it in the coding for the best output.

(LO1) Throughout this week, I set the project goals, and prioritized the tasks, and estimated the time to complete the task. I identified the required tools to complete the project. I chose to use the R programming language in this project as it is a widely used data analysis tool. (LO3) I checked the data if there are any null values. After I filtered the data, I viewed the summary of the dataset. The mean, standard deviation was calculated. (LO4) I used the analyzed data and plotted the histogram, bar chart, and

density. I used the ggplot library to visualize the data. (LO5) I learn about the types of the data type in R. I learn to write the code in the R programming language. I learn about the matrices, arrays, factors, data frame, and use of the libraries. What I did well (Refer to Skills/Knowledge Used.) Coding in the R programming language was the one I did well on as I already knew some of the basic syntaxes. I had more ideas on R programming for data analysis and visualization as I was reading Data analysis as a module in this semester. What I could improve on? (i.e. Skills/Knowledge I want to improve.) Good data analyzing is one of the skills I will improve upon the upcoming days by practicing regularly and reading articles. As it is important for knowing facts, figures and context of the data. How will I improve? (Explain how you will improve Skills/Knowledge in short term and in long term – make goals SMART.)’ Specific: Learn R data visualization and pictorial presentation of data so that I can visualize the data. Measure: I will know this goal is complete when I have finished the data analyzing and visualization part. Achievable: To achieve this goal, I have been learning the use of the libraries, plots and correlation. Relevant: As a future data analyst, it is a more realistic target to me.

Timing: 20 th May 2020 to 25 th April 2020. Does my Supervisor agree? (What does your Supervisor think of your action plan?) Yes, he agrees to good data analyzing skills. As per his supervision, he thinks it is important to analyse data properly as it organizes, interprets, structures and presents the information into valuable data that gives setting to the information.
