Leon Cleveland 4-10-2023 IT-200 Module Seven 7-2 Professor Reiner Computer Science : The study of computers and the hardware and software that support them is known as computer science. It also includes the study of theoretical and actual applications of computers. You may consider computer science to be the cornerstone of other IT fields. It provides the framework on which fields like information technology can be built. Software developers and computer systems analysts are two professions that employ computer science. IDEs, GitHub, and Decision Tables are a few tools and technologies that might be used in these professions. Information Systems : The study of information systems focuses on the gathering, storing, and processing of data using computer systems. For instance, Netflix uses information systems to locate additional shows you might like, and Amazon uses information systems to find things to promote to you. This field of study is connected to the others in IT since, unlike information technology, it refers to the entire system utilized for data processing. Information systems manager and information systems analyst

are two possible occupations in this field. Database software, monitoring tools, and backup systems are some of the technologies used in these professions. IT Engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on developing computer systems' software and hardware. Hardware engineers, for instance, don't simply work on computer hardware; they also create and advance other types of technology, such GPUs and CPUs. Hardware for self- driving cars or medical equipment could potentially be included. By addressing IT engineering issues like how to make processors quicker or how to optimize this application, this ties to the other fields. Engineers in hardware and software are among the professions in this field. Electrical testing equipment, repair tools, and specialized computer software are required for these occupations. Information technology is utilized in businesses to provide connection, infrastructure, systems for using and managing information, and support for these systems. By utilizing the technology engineers develop to provide a computer system for a business's operations, this links to the other disciplines. Network administrator, IT technician, and cloud system administrator are a few IT occupations. Asset tracking, monitoring software, management tools, and automation tools are a few tools that may be helpful in various professions.

Programming and Scripting : Programming and Scripting seem similar on the surface, but they have different applications and use cases. Scripting does not require that it be compiled to run, rather is it interpreted. Programming needs to be compiled. Scripting tends to be less code intensive making it easier to learn. In IT scripting is becoming very prevalent in automating tasks especially using tools like Ansible. For example, an IT admin can create a quick script that can install a package on a bunch of machines at once. Programming has its place as well, such as creating a custom application to pull in information from servers and display it in a central location. For my careers I chose Analyst, Administrator, and Architect . Analyst for cyber security (Entry Level) A security analyst, in my opinion, is most closely related to information technology. Providing expertise about vulnerabilities, exploitation/attack scenarios, and the risk in terms of likelihood and impact are some of the tasks and responsibilities in this position. For this job, you might use tools like Metasploit, Nessus, and Snort. While an emphasis on cyber security is ideal, many firms are OK with something wider like computer science.
