My name is X, but I prefer to go by C. I live in Maryland, and I am originally from Cameroon. My major is Cybersecurity and Technology. I will graduate this spring, in March, so this is my last semester. I used to be a Linux System Administrator for four years. My day to day activities involved create servers, monitored and maintained them. I also managed users and resolved any troubleshooting related issues. Now, I am a Para-educator trying to change my career as an IT teacher in a Middle School. My goal is to get experience about Cybersecurity Technology Capstone to have more knowledge how to secure my environment. I am a mom of four wonderful children (two boys and two girls), but there are twins in between them. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching movies during my leisure time. I hope to gain more knowledge from this course that would be a plus for my career. I wish luck to you all for this class, and I look forward to working with everyone! My name is y , but I prefer to go by Christine. I live in Clarksburg, Maryland, and I am originally from Cameroon. My major is Cybersecurity and Technology. It is not my first on-line class. I started taking on-line class since 2021 during my last semester of my Associate Degree. This is my last semester to graduate my Bachelor Degree. I used to be a Linux System Administrator for four years. Now, I am a Para-educator trying to change my career as an IT teacher in a Middle School. My goal is to get more knowledge in Digital Forensic. I used to take one Forensic class in Montgomery College. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching movies during my leisure time. I hope to gain more knowledge from this course that would be a plus for my career. I wish luck to you all for this class, and I look forward to working with everyone! Please take a moment and tell us a little about yourself. Who are you and where are you from? What is your world like? What is your major? Is this your first on-line class? What do you hope to do with the information you gain from this class. What are your goals for this course? My goal is to get experience about Cybersecurity Technology Capstone to have more knowledge how to secure my environment. Beyond the weekly topics we will discuss in CMIT 495, what do you believe a trending concept in the IT field would be? I enjoy spending time with my family and watching movies during my leisure time. Finally, please feel free to share some of your personal interests and hobbies and respond to other classmates’ posts so we can get to know each other. My name is D and I am from the Washington, D.C. area. I am majoring in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity and am excited to complete this capstone course for the degree. I work as a senior advisor for a communications agency in D.C and have been in various IT roles for the past 20 years including networking, VMs, radio systems, satellite and terrestrial links, and cloud computing. Currently, I work in policy over executive telecommunications and oversee teams that provide mobile, radio, and workstation services alongside a robust help desk. My goals for this class are to learn as much about the current trends in IT as well as exceed the curriculum standards. I believe that today’s current trending concepts are cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. As the modern age moves into a cloud computing world, the need for a more
secure digital infrastructure is critical. Additionally, in its seemingly ever-growing pursuit towards singularity, the realm of AI is quickly becoming the center of the IT field. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and mountain biking. I have enjoyed my time here at UMGC and look forward to working with everyone during this course.
