SUBJECT: Value Proposition for Hulu
Hulu is currently the #1 best in mix of Live and On-Demand TV according to PCMag.com (2022). Hulu provides customers with over 43,000 episodes and 2,500 movies over the web at any time of the day or night and add-ons from networks like HBO, Starz and Showtime. Recently, ESPN+ and Disney+ became partner add-ons providing all Disney shows and movies along with live sporting events from ESPN (Hulu, 2022).
The FIFA World Cup 2022 is being hosted in Qatar later this year. This is a major sporting event watched by many soccer fans throughout the world. Hulu can capitalize on this event if they can team up with the major Hispanic network, Univision. Although ESPN is an authorized network to air the World Cup, ESPN sport commentators all speak English. With majority of soccer fans being Hispanic and/or Spanish speakers, a partnership with Univision will attract the Hispanic community. Aside from the World Cup, the soap operas and TV shows Univision has
in its inventory will bring the Hispanic community to Hulu. Currently, a subscription with Univision cannot be purchased individually. You
must be a member of a service provider like Dish Network, DirectTV, or Cable TV. Those services tend to me more expensive and require a Hispanic package to get Univision. A partnership with Univision will allow Hulu members to explore Spanish speaking content while also targeting the Hispanic community.
