As stated previously, process/implementation evaluation focuses on
whether a program has been implemented properly. Key questions that are associated with the implementation of a re program are as follows: Are the required data being collected in a timely fashion according to the original research design? Are these data collected in an information system kept for the purposes of evaluation? Has the original method of data analysis been maintained as proposed? Are the management and evaluation reports being generated as planned? (Vito & Higgins, 2014). These are important questions and
concepts that should be answered as the evaluation of the process and implementation of the program move forward. These questions can be answered as the researcher periodically checks on the program to see if it is operating well and as intended (Vito & Higgins, 2014). It is not enough that the researcher simply implements the program, but also monitors the program as well. Monitoring the program will allow for the researcher to assess first hand some of the weakness and strengths, as well as assess if the overall goal of the program is reaching certain milestones or goals (Vito & Higgins, 2014). There are a number of other questions that should be considered during this process the program reaching the appropriate population? How many people are receiving services? What are the demographics of those that are being serviced? Are goals being met? Is the program failing the intended population? Are there implementation issues? Is there enough staff? Are there enough resources? Are the initial plans being properly implemented? (Vito & Higgins, 2014). According to the text, these question should be asked periodically in order to properly assess the program.
