This unit presents an introduction to pollution prevention and related laws.
Unit 1 Journal Entry:
Discuss how you implement or would like to implement pollution prevention concepts at work or home. Currently I work in administrative space, and for the most part pollution prevention does not come to mind initially. I believe that to properly implement anything in the workplace, or at home, or anywhere, what pollution is needs to be clearly defined. I am active-duty navy and was stationed in Yokosuka Japan at one point. One of the most a major concern in my workplace at that time was asbestos. Being new in the military, and being new to the workforce all together, I had never heard of asbestos. Having this experience and taken wat I have learned durting this lesson, first education needs to happen. Most of the time, most may not even know what is considered pollution in their workspace. Education employees will help them to identify areas that needs attention, and start to work towards how to eliminate or reduce pollution in the work place. After educating employee about
the pollution, then idientifyin the pollutant in the works place, and then learn how this pollution affects not only themselves, but the environment.
