In today's world of network architecture and the process by which companies communicate with their employees and their customers, it is important to fully understand the weaknesses and strengths of the architecture. Consider an example of a real-word company, whether it be from your own work experience or
even a business you may shop through (e.g., Amazon). Evaluate your knowledge of that company and discuss the following items:
Describe the communication methods applied (e.g., email, chat)
Elaborate on a personal experience you have had with a network connection that has left you avoiding this site or company based on its inability to provide reliable connectivity for its service.
Reliable network connectivity is extremely important to me because I am a stay-at-home mom for my two daughters (ages three and one) and I do TONS of online shopping. Online shopping has been so convenient for me simply because I do not have the time to physically go into a store to shop so I try to avoid it at all costs. Most online shopping services allow you to pay a monthly membership fee to get unlimited free delivery and discounted prices on their service. When I first read the prompt for this discussion, I immediately thought of Walmart. A part of my weekly online shopping routine is placing a weekly order for grocery delivery. There are a lot of platforms (Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Amazon, etc.) that allow you to use their website to search for grocery items and place an order for you to have these items delivered to your door. I have tried placing a grocery delivery order with Walmart on several occasions. One time, when searching for the items, an error message popped up saying “load results failed, network error, try again
later” and would not bring up any of the items I searched for. Another time when I added all the items that I needed to my cart and proceeded to check out, there was an error loading my cart and my cart could not be displayed. There are also times when I cannot log into the website using my username and password and a message will pop up saying the requested URL was rejected. Walmart offers the option of contacting support through chat, email, and phone. When the website is working well, chat is a great option and the quickest way to get issues resolved. Email takes a long time because sometimes your email may go through and sometimes the website will tell you to try sending your email later. If there are times when the website will not load at all and you cannot go to the chat and email section, phoning them will be a good option because they are usually good and efficient about answering the customer service line. The issues I have had with Walmart app has made it hard to enjoy my online shopping experience. I have
chosen other grocery delivery services like Instacart and Amazon Fresh to fulfill my grocery orders.
