First, | would check to see if the teacher has signed a contract with our school district. If so, then | would check to see if we have a morality clause. According to the DESE Code of ethics: All employees are entitled to work outside of the department if it should not interfere with their current job. All outside work must be reported to the employee’s supervisor and Human Resources. Now, with that being said since working at the gentlemen’s club is considered inappropriate, immoral and improper. It would be in the school’s best interest to let the teacher go. First, | would figure out what happened. Was this an accident, if so, could it be prevented or was it intentionally done by the chaperone. Secondly, it would come down to whether this was an act of negligence.
