Case Study: The Honest Company
1.
If there was no law about what “natural” meant, was it ethical to state they were natural?
Yes, it would be ethical to state they were natural because then there would be no law saying that you
can not put certain ingredients as “natural”.
2.
Is The Honest Company responsible for the actions of calling its products “natural”? Why or why
not?
Yes, The Honest Company would be responsible for the actions of calling their products “natural”. They
are responsible if they call their products natural but then their products are not natural. That will also
be labeled as false advertising because they would be advertising a “natural” product, but it is not a
“natural” product.
3.
Was Jessica Alba wrong in defending the ingredients in her company?
No, I do not think that she was in the wrong for defending the ingredients in her company because she
can defend her company if she has evidence the information she is defending is true and the person who
accused her was wrong.
