The two learning objectives that align to the standards that I have chosen are: Learning objective : Students will be able to identify and describe the main idea and key details of a text. Standard: ELA: RI.22 Focusing on reading informational texts and comprehending main ideas and key details. Learning Objective: Students will be able to solve addition and subtraction word problems within 100 using various strategies. Standard: Math. 2OA.A1: Emphasizing addition and subtraction skills through word problems and different strategies. The activity that I chose to support the learning engagement is The Main Idea and Key details Treasure Hunt. In this activity, students will work in pairs to go on a “treasure hunt” around the classroom. Each location will have a different informational text posted. Students will read the text together, identify the main idea, and discuss key details. They will record their findings on a worksheet. At the end of the treasure hunt, students will share their main ideas and key details with
the class. This activity will engage students in reading comprehension and collaboration while aligning with the learning objective of identifying main ideas and key details in texts.
