FINAL SUBMISSION 2 Final Submission: Professor Daze Fluster Professor Daze Fluster is failing to impart the education he was trained for to his students, disregarding his qualifications and background in preparing them accordingly. This case study primarily revolves around Professor Daze Fluster and the students under him whose interactions are multi-faceted - as professor-learner pairs or even with a possibility of serving as their academic advisor/mentor. Ethical Conflict The primary ethical dilemma in this case study concerns Professor Daze Fluster's failure to provide his students with the appropriate level of education that he is trained for. He appears to be neglecting his educational background and knowledge, not using it effectively to equip his students with what they need. The fundamental issue here revolves around questions of competency, specifically a lack thereof or insufficient mastery on the part of Professor Fluster when it comes ethics principles, standards and skills presented to consumers - as defined by Koocher and Keith-Spiegel (2015). Consequently, due to poor performance by Professor Fluster in meeting their expectations; many perceive him as incompetent wasting precious resources such time without rendering any helpful support towards improving both himself and others involved in learning experiences under him. APA Code of Ethics Principles This case study unequivocally falls under the purview of Principle B: Fidelity and Responsibility. This principle necessitates that psychologists possess an ethical obligation to aid in guaranteeing their colleagues maintain elevated ethical standards, as per Cherry (2023) who affirms this duty with regard to Fidelity and Responsibility. Professor Daze Fluster is failing to fulfill his obligation as an educator by neglecting to assist and teach his students. This lack of
FINAL SUBMISSION 3 responsibility betrays the trust that these individuals have placed in him, given that they are actively investing both their time and money into gaining knowledge from expert instructors like himself. Despite this expectation towards Professor Fluster's professional commitments, it appears he has lost sight of what being a teacher truly means which no longer aligns with student standards regarding effective educational practices. APA Code of Ethics Standards According to Principal C, psychologists must maintain integrity by refraining from deceit and misrepresentation in both research and practice (Cherry, 2023). Unfortunately, Professor Daze Fluster has displayed deceptive behavior towards his students throughout his career as a professor. As a result of his disorganization and lack of empathy for their struggles, he fails to fulfill the responsibilities that come with teaching – ultimately demonstrating unethical conduct. Statement of Culture and Social Orientations Within this case study, a social perspective suggests that Professor Daze Fluster is unable to carry out his responsibilities as a professor. It's possible he may no longer find joy in his work and struggle with moving on from it for various reasons. Additionally, the turmoil within his marriage could contribute to feelings of distress and disorganization at work. Various personal issues relating to family problems might unfortunately be impacting Professor Fluster’s professional life as well. Statement of Multiple Relationship Issues The ethical strategy developed by Professor Daze Fluster can be affected if he occupies multiple roles, such as being an academic advisor or mentor. Such overlapping relationships may cause a deficiency in his performance within those areas and create potential ethical problems that require remedial strategies to address them. When the issue of integrity arises in the

It would therefore be advisable for him to take leave until he can fulfill all responsibilities associated with his professorship without causing undue harm. In case he cannot meet all obligations required of him professionally, there should be somebody else appointed who could assume some or all functions previously held by Professor Daze so as not only support individuals but guarantee continued success at work too. The Ethical Decision-Making Model (Eight Step Model) Step 1: Determine whether the issue genuinely pertains to ethics. The issue of Professor Daze Fluster's teaching standards being linked to ethics is undeniable! Ethics are essentially defined as "moral principles that guide behavior or the performance of an activity" (Dictionary, 2023). Morally speaking, teachers have a responsibility towards their students - educating and equipping them for life beyond school. In fact, parents play teacher from day one by raising us with vital knowledge on how to lead happy and responsible lives; it follows quite similarly when we progress onto academic educators later down the line. Step two involves referring to existing guidelines that could serve as a potential solution mechanism. This entails Professor Daze Fluster reviewing his teaching contract, revisiting the expectations set for him in this capacity. Additionally, he might benefit from consulting course syllabi; not only would it save time spent rifling through papers in his briefcase but also provide an outline of topics planned per class session. Step three involves taking a moment to thoroughly contemplate all factors that could potentially impact the decision at hand. Making an informed choice requires careful consideration of all available options, including any personal circumstances or distractions
