The Situational Leadership Model by Hersey and Blanchard is the contingency theory I selected since it most closely matches my workplace. A leadership paradigm called the Hersey-Blanchard paradigm emphasizes each employee's capabilities and willingness. The Hersey-Blanchard model opposes the assumption that businesses need to use a particular style of leadership, in contrast to other leadership models. Instead, the model suggests a leadership style that is tailored to the specific conditions in every workplace. By assessing the skills and background of each worker, managers may modify their leadership
styles to support their staff members' career advancement.
According to Hersey and Blanchard’s Situational Leadership Model, it states, “as the employee cultivates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform at increasing levels of expectations, the manager modifies their leadership style” (Borkowski, 2020). I am now employed in home health care as a client service manager. This is my first job managing staff. I've been with this organization for three months, and I can tell that I've had to conquer several challenges on my own. In comparison to the other managers, I found it easy to delegate and apply the new policy. After three months, I can see that I am adjusting to each unique employee and working with them to reach our company and office goals. Although it has not been easy, it is a work in progress, and I am certain that with more time, it will work out in the best interests of the organization. As a result, I picked Hersey and Blanchard's Situational Leadership Model, which is most appropriate for my work setting.

One prominent leadership theory is the situational leadership theory, which suggests that effective leadership is contingent upon the specific circumstances or context in which it occurs. According to this theory, leaders should adapt their style based on the readiness or maturity level of their followers. In other words, leaders must assess the competence and commitment of their followers and adjust their leadership approach accordingly, whether it be directing, coaching, supporting, or delegating tasks. By flexibly adapting their leadership style to meet the needs of their followers, leaders can maximize their effectiveness and facilitate the achievement of organizational goals.
