Unit 9 Assignment
In PG Industries quality control is crucial to produce computer chips and other parts used in cars after the slowdown from overseas suppliers. Chips are an essential part of modern-day cars now and to continue to grow and develop as a company in that field known for quality computer chips is crucial. As such we have implemented quality control programs at all levels to include procurement, distribution, and customer service. Unfortunately, the department heads are resisting the implementation of these training programs, which is why as the leader in charge of managing this change, we will have four
effective ways to mange this resistance. The first way to manage this change is to ensure the department heads are educated and communicate. As the leading manager for this change it is my job to educate these heads about the upcoming changes before, they occur (Bateman, 2022). This is crucial so that those that need to start accepting these changes are notified and able to start working these changes into their existing programs. Next, I will be implementing that key stakeholders are involved. Having these key stakeholders involved will reduce this resistance as this change affects those from top to bottom and by having them involved in the change and design allow for a better buy into these programs since they helped
create I (Bateman, 2022). These programs will need support and resources and my management team will provide that. As the leader of this project the goal is to have this change happen as easily as possible to help enable this we will be providing easy to understand training, the time needed to properly be trained, and feedback session to improve that training. Finally, if the resistance

Design Within Reach (DWR)
Design Within Reach (DWR) is one of the leading hardwood furniture manufacturers. While DWR has many small competitors, none of them controls a
significant market share. Like most furniture manufacturers, DWR sells its products to a wide variety of small furniture stores, none of which represents a
large percentage of DWR's sales. DWR can choose among many wood (an undifferentiated commodity) suppliers to find the best price and delivery. The
growth rate of the hardwood furniture industry has slowed considerably in recent years. Many consumers purchase "IKEA type" furniture made of
composite wood, which is substantially less expensive than hardwood furniture.
The level of direct competition in the hardwood furniture industry can best be described as
moderate because the slowing growth rate offsets the numerous firms in the industry.
