T-Mobile US is my current employer of over eight years. The company’s mission statement declared by CEO, Mike Sievert, is simplified into “to be the best in the world at connecting customers to their world” (2023, A word from our CEO, Mike). The company originally purchased from Deutsche Telekom, a German based company, now
resides their headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas and Bellevue, Washington after a recent merger. T-Mobile is a public sector with around 71,000 employees that take care of approximately 118 million customers as of Q3 2023 (T-Mobile US, Inc., 2023). T-
Mobile offers wireless service to allow customers to stay connected to their world via cellular, tablets, watches, home internet, and many more. T-Mobile has gone through many changes over the last five years that it is clear there is a disconnect between their message of a mission statement and how they are motivating us as employees when most of us have been worried if we even have a job and why are pay is constantly decreasing. Burkus (2020) discusses this same issue in his blog about how there is a missing piece among employees when believing in T-
Mobile’s mission statement and waking up every day to be motivated at work. In a management position, I am constantly finding ways to motivate my sales reps. I understand T-Mobile’s mission and do believe it hits the main topics Burkus discusses except for the motivation piece. It becomes challenging to inspire when employees are less motivated from continuous company change and focus. The stakeholders at T-Mobile are their customers, employees, investors, and competitors. The mission statement can be improved to send a more unifying message to all stakeholders involved with a more internal motivating piece. I believe the message
is already straightforward and direct. Unity will allow the company to work together and
grow in a friendly competitive manner. The company merged Sprint and T-Mobile into one company, T-Mobile, and in my opinion, that has been a start of the disconnect. The mission statement should be adjusted including a message of growth and a more direct way of sending a valuable message to the employees since the employees are a major part of why T-Mobile is successful. This can be done by taking the time and measuring out the success that has been going on for three years but include everyone in the mission statement improvements. The company sends quarterly surveys to voice our opinions and is a way of measuring our quarterly results. The surveys have a scale ranking and can incorporate the change and measure if T-Mobile is making the change and the response to the change. References:

Amazon typifies successful competition in the new economy far more than many firms. Some would say that Amazon invented the internet retailing business model that all other dot-coms are struggling to copy. Amazon understands the strategy of developing and maintaining customer loyalty, which is the key to success in retail e-business, and implements it effectively (Blocher et al., 2019).
Amazon has a loyal and growing customer base because of its reliable service and low cost. It has recently been cited as a major factor in the bankruptcies of other companies such as Circuit City (electronics retail company) and Borders (book and music retailer). Amazon also presents a competitive threat to Walmart, OfficeMax, and other retailers. The reason: Shoppers find the same product at lower prices and enjoy the convenience of online shopping. A recent study showed that, on average, a Walmart product is 19% more expensive than at Amazon. Amazon avoids the costs of maintaining retail facilities…

E-commerce Is Growing – Are You Growing with It?
By the end of 2019, e-commerce was a fast-growing business channel continuously evolving and adapting to ensure revenue growth and profitability of businesses of all sizes. For some organizations, an e-commerce strategy was a no-brainer. Implementing the right technology and effective supply chain solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and boost sales. For other organizations, adoption was slower and sometimes non-existent. But even in those cases, business leaders were aware e-commerce was inevitably on the horizon, however far they perceived it to be.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world at the beginning of 2020, many businesses started to react and rethink their operations; first, ensuring the health and safety of employees and customers alike, and second acting quickly to guarantee their economic survival. And so began the accelerated growth of e-commerce, far beyond what any forecast would’ve predicted.

Scenario: You are the chief operating officer (COO) of a local supermarket chain that has 10 stores within an 100-mile radius. The farm-to-table movement has been gaining momentum locally, and now it's a consumer demand as well as a good practice. This movement supports the use of local suppliers to limit the environmental impact caused by the long-distance transportation of food. It also supports small family farms that use sustainable practices, such as avoiding genetically modified organisms and pesticides or using organic fertilizers. The CEO of the supermarket chain has asked you to see if the supermarket can apply some of the farm-to-table principles to how it selects produce suppliers. Before moving too far in that direction, both you and the CEO agree that the inventory-management implications need to be understood.*What are a few different ways that the supermarket chain could incorporate farm-to-table principles into its operations while still meeting consumer demands?
