2 Global Communications Global communication remains prevalent in the present-day business world. “Global or international communication is the development and sharing of information, through verbal and non-verbal messages, in international settings and contexts. It is a broad field that incorporates multiple disciplines of communication, including intercultural, political, health, media, crisis, social advocacy, and integrated marketing communications, to name just a few. Individuals with a degree in global communication might find employment in advertising and marketing, public relations, international journalism, foreign service, politics and lobbying, publishing, online media, entertainment, or any other industry with an international focus.” (Masters in Communications,2022). Global communications is highly beneficial to businesses with international partners. Businesses are able to develop and grow within the market when expanding globally. Global business and trading have both pros and cons mainly due to dealing with diverse cultures, but that is why being able to communicate effectively is imperative. In this paper a broad examination of global communications will be discussed. Studying global communications, one would examine how information is exchanged across geographical and social divides, and how such communication is impacts by culture, politics, economies, etc. Global communication allows businesses to develop and share information to make an effective impact internationally in order to sell products and numerous more reasons. The various forms that global communication can come across as are but are not limited to the following: advertisements, political speeches, news stories, social media posts, and press releases. As previously stated, the world of business heavily relies on global communications and international relations. Seeing that most everything is online and social media is so powerful in
3 present day business that assists in businesses being successful. Many businesses today have international branches and global partners, and it is important to be able to communicate effectively. Global communications are not only an everyday function of business but also individual lies. We are able to communicate with friends and family and share pictures and other content globally. Communication via apps, or facetime has become a pivotal way to communicate through the void of distance. Up to 20 years ago the post office was a main way to communicate by written mail but now there are numerous social media platforms to communicate faster and more immediate. Many companies such as McDonalds and other food chains have branched to many countries. These food chain restaurants must adhere to any local cultural diversities and customs to be successful, these diversities could include using different meats for food, different portion sizes, or different drinks that are more accustomed to the local populus. Even large theme parks such as Disney have branched out globally becoming successful internationally. It is important that no matter the business you expand internationally that not only do those in management positions can communicate effectively but that the employees are trained on how to effectively communicate with cultural voids at hand. Conclusion In conclusion, in order to be successful expanding globally is important. Global communication is prevalent not only in the business world but on a day to day basis for individuals. Many companies and business have become even more successful by expanding globally. Social media has become the basis of global communication in past years. There are numerous large social media platforms that not only make it easier to communicate than handwritten mail but it assists in promoting business and products. The base of effective global
