Interview:
●
How do they determine when and where to integrate technology?
○
The best way to integrate technology is to plan out your lessons or activities that you are wanting to do to teach your target and then look and see if there are any technology platforms that can assist with the lesson. ●
What technology-based resources, instructional strategies, and activities have they successfully integrated into their lessons?
○
I use my smartboard every day for every lesson. That is the main form of technology I like to use. After that, using chromebooks, or technology platforms like google classroom
are also great tools to use to help students with their learning. ●
What changes or additions can they suggest for including technology in your curriculum map?
○
I would suggest having more hot links in your curriculum map. Having these links will help teachers clink directly to the website needed. ●
Discuss with your mentor two additional, meaningful ways to incorporate technology into your curriculum map and discuss the benefits of each for increasing student learning. ○
She suggested having hot links to various websites that could be used for teachers throughout the curriculum, this got me thinking of providing a column with extension activities. These could be lessons, review games, or even links to worksheets. The next thing that we talked about would be to create links that could be posted to google classroom for vocabulary words. ●
Include how you will continue to utilize technology in your future professional practice when designing curriculum
○
I think all of us can agree that using technology within our classroom not only benefits the teacher, but the students. I will continue to use the technology provided in the classroom like chromebooks, smartboard, document cameras, ect. I am also going to continue using technology platforms like google classroom to help keep my students organized and provide an easy way to support their learning. Reflection:
Technology is an important part of education nowadays. It is the 21st century and students need to know how to use technology to help with their learning. When I was designing my curriculum map, I wanted to make sure that each lesson had a possibility of integrating some type of technology within the lesson. For example, I think adding a vocabulary log on google classroom for math will help students that are low in reading or ELL students. Another great source that I added to the curriculum map is a student online manipulative tool. This is an easy link that students can click on and it will take them to online
