Florida Core Standards Scavenger Hunt Activity CPALMs 1. What is the text title that goes with domain MA.2.NSO? ________________ _ - Read and Write numbers from 0-1,000 using standard form, expanded form and word form. 2. What is Standard 1 under this Strand? (Provide text for standard) - Understand the place value of three-digit numbers. 3. What are the six Strands for Grade 4 Math? 1. Number Sense and Operations 2. Fractions 3. Geometric Reasoning 4. Algebraic Reasoning 5. Measurement 6. Data Analysis and Probability 4. What is the access point that best includes fraction concepts for Standard MA.1.FR.1: Fractions by partitioning shapes into halves and fourths? MA.1.FR.1.AP.1 Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal-sized parts. Recognize the parts of the whole as halves or fourths. 5. What is the name of the first lesson plan for Standard 1 MA.3.NSO.1.1 ? (Hint: read more) - Decoding Decomposing {Adding two 3-digit numbers} 6. What do the following initials stand for: DP- Data Analysis and Probability GR- Geometric Reasoning M – Measurement FR - Fractions AR – Algebraic Reasoning NSO – Number Sense and Operations 7. What is the coding (example: SC.1.L.1) for “ Explain that stars can be different; some are smaller, some are larger, and some appear brighter than others; all except the Sun are so far away that they look like points of light.” SC.3.E.5.1 8. What do the following initials stand for: Leadership Educational National Preparation 9. Are all four categories found in each grade level K-5? Y / N 10. What is the first STEM lesson plan found in SC.1.N.1? Model Eliciting Activity Squeaky Clean: Students will learn that personal hygiene is needed for overall health. Students will investigate different types of hand cleansers and cleaners in order to find the best solution to keeping germs at bay. Model Eliciting Activities, MEAs, are open-ended, interdisciplinary problem-solving activities that are meant to reveal students’ thinking about the concepts embedded in realistic situations. Click here  to learn more about MEAs and how they can transform your classroom.
Rubric Assignment Rubric Title: Number Sense and Operations MA.1.NSO.1.2 Traits Not Yet In Process Target Write numbers from 0-100 in standard form. Student has difficulty translating verbal numbers onto paper. Student understands the concept but forgets placement of numbers Student can fully write any number 0-100 in standard form. EX: The number fifty-five in standard form is 55. Write numbers from 0-100 in word form. Student has difficulty understanding the verbal translation of numbers to words. Student can spell out some numbers but has trouble putting it together. Students can fully write any number 0-100 in word form. EX: 98= ninety-eight Write numbers from 0-100 in expanded form. Student has difficulty taking a whole number and splitting it into expanded form. Student understands the concept but forgets placement of numbers. Student can fully write any number 0-100 in expanded form. EX: 98= 90 + 8 Predict/Observe/Explain (POE)
Predict Observe Explain I predict 18 drops will fit on the penny. I used a penny and cup of water with an eyedropper. I started by placing the penny on a flat surface and filling up the dropper. I noticed each drop perfectly siting on the surface of the penny. Once the surface was one big drop of water, I noticed it rising as I added more drops of water. The first time I did it about 11 drops made it on. The second time I tried to be very gentle when dropping the water and 16 drops made it on. Then, when I did it a third time 17 drops made it on. All in all, I noticed each time the gentler I dropped the water the better chance I had at keeping it on the penny for longer. My prediction was close to what my results were. However, depending on how clean or dirty the penny you use might affect your results. Next time I would use multiple penny’s some newer looking some older to see if that plays a role in keeping the water on their longer.

Early Computation Write all the fact families for this number bond. Counting On . Solve for 6 + 7 = Show work on number line. Counting Up . Solve for 13 – 7 = Show work on number line. Counting Back . Solve for 12 - 5 = Show work on number line. Number Paths Solve for 7 + 8 = Show work on number path. Open Number Line Solve for 45 + 52 = Solve for 326 + 143 = ______________________________ _____________________________________ Is the “Tim made 4 baskets” sheet appropriate? Explain why or why not.
