This paper is going to be talking about the 2019 fertility rate for the average of children per woman and the life expectancy average from 192 countries, also from the year 2019. Below are the two histograms and a scatterplot of the data. The fertility histogram (1
st
one) is skewed to the right which tells us that less women are having a child. The mean is approx. 2.6 meaning each woman is having about 3 children. The median is 2.2 so we think of that as the point that we base our data from. The next histogram is life expectancy (2
nd
one), this is skewed to the left which tells us that less people are dying at an early age. The mean is 73.8 showing us this is probably the average age that people are living to. The median (middle point) is 75.01, giving us a base to determine the life expectancy age. The scatterplot is the third chart, below I will list the variables:
Least-squares regression - y=-4.662x+86.099
Linear correlation - -0.815 meaning when fertility is more, the life expectancy is less.
Coefficient of determination - 0.664 this is the variance of data.
Interpretation of slope - -4.662. y is 86.1 so this means that even if we never had a child, we may live to be around 86 years old. The US Prediction for all of this would be, x = 1.7 so using the above equation, y=-
4.662x+86.099, y = -4.662(1.7) + 86.009 we would get 78.0836. So, this would show us that

with all the other summary statistics, it would be within the range of our original targeted number. Some of the lurking thoughts I have are that things are not being factored into this. Things happen every single day and these numbers are solely based off the exact numbers. Addiction is plaguing our country and every day we are losing people to drugs, there are murders, car accidents and suicide. I do not feel that abortion, miscarriage or surrogacy was taken into accountability.
