Food Outreach for The Hungry in Hanford CA Chelsea Tomlinson Math-144 Feb 5, 2023 Anyone Who Is in Need of Food There is not a particular group of individuals or economic position that my outreach program will be benefiting, therefore I cannot specifically name them. We will assist anybody who needs food, regardless of their age, gender, or race, and we will also support those individuals' families. There are several different places to which individuals may go to get help. The church will be the primary venue where these meals will be distributed; however, there will also be three vans that will be filled with volunteers who will drive about the community distributing meals to other areas that are known to be frequented by homeless people. The areas of Hanford and Lemoore are going to be the ones who get assistance from the city in this matter. The quantity of help received is dependent, in part, on the number of people living in the home or in the family. The size of the group or family will be the sole consideration in making this selection; neither age nor gender will play a role. Cards announcing the availability of meals to anybody who may be in need will be distributed at the church as a kind of public service announcement. After then, members of the church may distribute them to anybody they see fit within the community. The vans will be packed with meals, and their drivers will drive about providing the meals to anyone is interested. In addition, advertisements on the availability of these meals will be posted on various social media platforms to assist spread the news. There is no need to keep track of who will be getting the boxes of food since they may receive as many as they need during the year, which means there is no need to keep track of who will be receiving the boxes. The only thing that will be kept track of is the number of boxes that were distributed at the end of each week to determine the total number of persons who were assisted during that week and to conduct an inventory of any supplies that may be required for the following week.
Food Meals for People in Need Food boxes including meals and non-perishable products will be prepared by our team and made accessible to anybody who needs assistance with their dietary needs. These food boxes will include a variety of non-perishable products such as snacks, canned goods, soups, waters, baby meals, and other things. Individuals and families are welcome to come and get these boxes on an as-needed basis for a period of 12 weeks. It is possible for them to get many boxes if they have a large family. There will be a means for individuals to come to the church and collect their boxes there, or there will be three separate vans travelling around to various sites and handing out boxes that way. Either way, people will have the opportunity to get their boxes. This manner, there is a site that is kept, and there is also another approach that is more adaptable for those individuals who are unable to make it to the location that is maintained. If you are offering to drive one of the vans, however, you will need to have a valid driver's license to give this help. Other than that, providing this service does not need any specific training or qualification. Aside from that, the only other talent that is required to give this service is the desire to assist individuals who are in need. People will benefit in the near term from this aid because they will have the peace of mind in knowing that they will be able to eat that evening or that they will be able to ensure that their family have something to eat in the interim because of the support. They will either be able to help others who are also struggling financially, or they will be able to provide a supper for themselves and quite likely a family that they have. This will have an instant influence on their life. People who get this assistance now have a location where they are certain of having meals and being able to care for themselves and/or their families for a period of twelve weeks, which might be of long-term benefit to them. They are certain that their family and they will not go hungry for the next one hundred and twenty-four days at the very least. Each of the boxes that are going to be delivered will contain the same item, and they will be made by a service that operates along the lines of an assembly line. An inventory will be done at the end of each week to determine what items need to be bought for the next week based on what was found in the inventory. There will be no record kept of who receives a box or how many boxes a person receives; rather, these boxes will be made accessible to anybody has a need
for them. We shall keep a record of the number of boxes that are distributed daily to determine the total number of persons who are benefiting from our assistance. Project Management The Fellowship Church will serve as the home base for all the activities associated with my project. There will be no cost associated with renting the space since it will be donated. Meal boxes will be given in a coordinated effort between the church and the volunteers who will be driving the vans. Contracts between myself, the church, and the volunteers will serve as the necessary documents in this case. Every volunteer will be required to sign a release of liability form. The waivers will be duplicated, and individual copies will be sent to each volunteer as well as to the pastor. Due of the potential for liability, I shall store the original copies in a secure location. To ensuring that I am covered by insurance and preventing them from changing the terms of the waiver, they have their own paperwork, which means that they will be aware of all that they are signing up for. Since it is both a written and orally communicated waiver, it is impossible for anybody to claim that they are unable to comprehend the terms and circumstances of the waiver. Volunteers will contact one another using a social media app, which will notify them of when and where they will meet, who is going where, and for how long they will be delivering meals if they are driving. The app will also alert them of who is going where. Boxes of food will be distributed by volunteers either from the church itself or by driving around in a van and stopping at various locations. In addition to that, they will assist with packing the boxes that are located at the church. The volunteers will come from the congregation of the church itself. There are a variety of ministries within the church that provide opportunities for members to give their time to assist the community. I think that there will probably be anywhere between fifteen and twenty people eager to offer their time and be willing to contribute it . First Half of the Project The beginning of November twenty-five and continuing until the beginning of February twenty- six will be the timeframe for my endeavor. Individuals are more inclined to volunteer their time to help those in need over the winter holidays since this is the time of year when the greatest

number of people are struggling financially. I would need approximately four weeks to prepare, three weeks to raise money and advertise, and then two weeks to place the order for the boxes, water, and food supplies to be mailed and carried to the church, where we would start to package the first weeks’ worth of boxes. In total, I would need approximately six weeks to complete all the preparations. During the second week of the preparations, I will have a conversation with the pastor to discuss who will be volunteering for the whole twelve-week period and what activities those volunteers will be involved in. In addition to this, I will be coordinating the efforts of the volunteers who, during the first week, will oversee packing the boxes. To persuade an outsider that the project is ready to move forward, I will need to have the vans lined up, the volunteers assigned, and all of the food, water, and supplies that will be packaged into all of the boxes, as well as all of the masks and gloves, purchased. I will also need to have all the protective gear ready to go, including the masks and gloves. Only then will I be able to show that the project is ready to move forward. I am unable to provide an estimate for the number of people that we will be able to help since it will be up to those individuals to decide whether they want to receive these pre-packaged boxes. People will get assistance from us in the form of pre-packaged boxes that include non-perishable food items, meals, and water. These boxes will also be sent to them. There is no predetermined target number; rather, our objective throughout those twelve weeks is to aid as many individuals as possible. Second Half of the Project There are about five weeks remaining before the completion of my project. During the very last week of my project, we are going to try to distribute as many boxes as we possibly can to give away all the food and drink that we may have remained or that we just have an excess of. My prediction is that in the last few weeks, we will be able to assist a greater number of individuals than we did in the first few weeks. I have two hopes: the first is that the advertising will reach more people, and the second is that individuals who are really getting the boxes will tell others who are in need about the initiative, and that information will spread by word of mouth rather than only through our own commercials. I have faith that more people will want to volunteer across the whole church, not just in the programs that need support, and that the number of volunteers we now have will increase, which will allow us to continue to aid the same number of
people. During the last week, we will make every effort to distribute as many man boxes as is humanly possible to provide our complete supply of food and water to people who need it. I will have a list ready for you at the conclusion of the project that details how many boxes we really produced and how many individuals we were able to assist. I would be finishing up the contracts with the van rental firm and chatting to each of the volunteers about their experiences. I would be doing both things simultaneously. I would inquire as to whether they had a good time working and helping other people, as well as inquire as to whether it is something that they would consider doing again in the future. In addition to this, I would be talking to them about any adjustments or improvements that they think may be done. During the final week of the project, we will inform everyone that the program is coming to an end and that we hope we were able to assist them in their time of need and that it influenced their lives. We will also express our hope that they will carry the memories of this experience with them. Whether it be a resource center or a cheaper retail choice, I would try to give more resources from which people could get important products for a price that was little or even free . Project Evaluation It is necessary for me to inquire of the folks, when they are getting their boxes, how it will either benefit them individually or how it would help them and their families. They can get as many boxes as they need since there is no system in place; this is since we are able to assist them on an as-needed basis. Additionally, our primary objective is to assist as many people and/or families as we can. We need to find out who the boxes are going to help, if the person has a family that they are trying to provide for, and how this has helped them in the past. Also, we need to find out whether the individual has a family. During the last week of the distribution of the boxes, we will inquire of each person who gets one as to whether they will be able to provide feedback after a period of three months. We would inquire as to whether there is any way we could get in touch with them to determine whether the boxes were still influencing their life even though the project
had come to an end. To reestablish communication with them, we would schedule a time when they could visit the church again, or we would get together with them to talk about how the boxes influenced their life. The number of individuals who could have been forced to go without nourishment or water for the duration of the three months after the completion of the project. To try to contact as many people as possible and supply them with food and drink so that they do not go hungry, we would need to know where there is a likely excess of homeless individuals and where there are communities with lower incomes. This information is necessary for us to have. Ethics and Christian Worldview Analysis My plan illustrates the principle of loving one's neighbor as oneself because we would extend a hand to those in need and aid them just as if the tables were turned and we wanted them to do the same for us if they were in our position. In the same way that God helped us by offering his life on the cross as payment for our sins before those sins were ever committed, my objective with this project is to show how important it is to have the attitude of a servant and to support people who are in need. Those who we are assisting are different from me in that I have a secure salary and can care for myself and my family without having to worry about money problems. Those who we are assisting do not have this luxury. The undertaking will assist those who have had more good fortune than others in comprehending the fact that we were all here on this globe together and that we are required to coexist as a one entity. My project contributes to the overall objective of bestowing human value and dignity upon all individuals by demonstrating that even though some of us may be more privileged than those whom we are serving, we are all the same in the end and should not consider ourselves to be on a higher level than those whom we are

helping. The fact that we are not the ones who will be getting these care packages including food and water does not put us in a better position than anybody else. Because we are all humans, it follows that everyone of us is valuable in our own special manner. Even if many of the individuals who will be receiving the food and water packages have lesser salaries than we do, this in no way means that they are any less of a person than we do. On the contrary, this fact demonstrates that they are more deserving of our assistance. We must come to terms with the fact that everyone will have challenges in their lives, and the realization that you are the one who is assisting others in overcoming those challenges will make you feel privileged to be able to assist others. Summary and Reflections As The Fellowship Church is the place of worship that I have been going to for the last several months, I decided to get in touch with some of its members. They enlightened me to the fact that there are a variety of needs across my neighborhood; however, the one that stands out the most to me is the fact that many individuals do not have sufficient food for themselves or their family. I was thinking of establishing a food outreach program in addition to giving access to educational resources for families living on a low budget. Since educational materials would only be available to those who were enrolled in classes, I came to the conclusion that the best approach for me to spread my message to the greatest number of people would be to engage in food outreach. My assumption was that if I could communicate with a larger number of individuals, it
would be more successful and have a greater influence. There is a wide variety of locations where families can go to receive meals; however, it is possible that these locations will not be open during the time that the family requires them, that they will charge an excessive amount, that they will have insufficient supplies, or that they will restrict the number of items that people can receive. Because of my proposal, anyone of any income level will be able to get as much as they need, when they require it, regardless of how much they earn. It is possible that the persons who are being supported do not have access to appropriate transportation, which prevents them from traveling to locations where they may get meals. It's possible that they don't have a place to live since their automobile broke down. People may get the benefits of my project regardless of where they are located. To be able to deliver my service, I had not given any thought to whether I would be required to secure any type of permissions. To make sure that I could give out as many of these boxes as possible to as many different individuals, I would check to see whether I needed to get any kind of license or other authorization beforehand.
