1. Convert the following expressions between exponential and logarithmic form. a. b. 2. Solve for 𝑥𝑥 . Give your answer to three decimal places where appropriate. a. b. c. d.
e. f. 3. Use the properties of logarithms to solve the following equations. a. b. c.
4. Solve for the unknown using a method of your choice. a. b. c. 5. Describe the transformations on the logarithmic function Vertical Reflection (Reflection about the x-axis): The negative sign in front of the fraction ½ reflects the graph of the function vertically about the x-axis. This means that any point (x,y) on the original graph is transformed to (x,-y) on the reflected graph. Vertical Compression/Stretch: The fraction ½ inside the logarithmic function compresses the graph vertically by a factor of 2. This means that the graph is squeezed toward the x- axis. Vertical Translation (Upward): The constant term +9 outside the logarithmic function shifts the graph vertically upwards by 9 units. Every point (x,y) on the original graph is shifted to (x,y+9) on the transformed graph.
