Conventional Medicine: the traditional system of medicine, where
healthcare professionals tend to patients with common procedures and
prescribing medication. An example of this is when a patient gets
diagnosed with arthritis, and their doctors prescribe a variety of
medications, and potentially schedule surgeries.
b.
Alternative: the system of medicine that combats conventional medicine,
by aiming to treat patients and illnesses through therapeutic practices that
help heal the mind and body. An example of this is massage therapy or
acupuncture, where patients are treated with physical practices to heal
pain and stress.
c.
Complementary: medical practices that work simultaneously with
conventional practices. An example of complementary medicine is
physical therapy/ occupational therapy.
d.
integrative medicine: system of medicine that combines complementary
and conventional medicine. An example of integrative medicine is working
with trainers, or yogas.

I am currently a high school student, dually enrolled, so I haven’t spent a
lot of time on the LPC campus. I was not aware that Las Positas offered
such a large variety of health services.

Some preventative care examples that LPC offers include clinical breast

ensure that students are able to catch their symptoms and treat them
