The Heart and Cardiovascular System
Blood Tracing Assignment
Tracings: Should include heart valves, heart chambers, which arteries, capillaries, and veins that are used to accomplish tracing. Tracing a RBC (redblood cell) from Left Ventricle to an anatomic location and back to Left Ventricle. Upload to the assignment drop box as an attachment once you have completed the assignments. This should be a list and is similar to if you would want to drive across the country and you listed out the roads you would take using Mapquest. You should find pictures of the artery system and venous system
in the text book and use them as you would a road atlas and list out the arteries, veins, and the heart chambers/valves. Be sure to have watched the "Circle Diagram" video before doing this. It is like a road map as if you were driving a very small car and each blood vessel is a road and chambers are tunnels you
would drive on and/or through. Tell it as a story in your own
words l
isting
vessel
each as you would a list of roads you would drive on to get to the beach and back from campus.
You are to watch the circle diagram video in the video lecture file found in course content. Then using the book you will find the templates that have the arteries labeled (whole body, arm, leg, etc) and the veins labeled. From those you create a listing of which vessels the RBC travels through to get to the 5th and back to the left ventricle. When it travels through the heart include each valve it passes by and each
heart chamber it goes through as well. Think of it as if you were going to go to Myrtle Beach for spring break and you go to mapquest.com to print out directions so you don't use your data. You put in your home address and the address of the beach house (with private pool and Jacuzzi) and click on round trip. You are given a list of roads to Myrtle and a list back. Do the same for each question. In this trip you are to start at the left ventricle and finish at the left ventricle.
