Young Earth Creationist:
New Life Origins Theory Has Old Problems
https://www.icr.org/article/new-life-origins-theory-has-old-problems
1.
What is your first reaction after reading the article?
Upon reading, I responded negatively to the scientists and paper, "Geologists' have not entirely solved the problem, but they have come closer." One, the statement appears ostentatious and misconstrues the genuine essence of the Word. It is God's desire for us to have knowledge and understanding of Him. It seems that they are attempting to uncover the existence of God through their sophisticated language and concepts, akin to searching for the hidden truth behind the curtain, as depicted in The Wizard of Oz. However, a misconception arises as God desires us to discover His presence. As I continued reading, it became evident that the issue at hand is not the quest for understanding God or the origins of life, as if such knowledge would negate the existence of God. The problem lies in their agenda. The believers perceive that uncovering the Origin of Life would mark the culmination of their pursuit. The main obstacle preventing them from progressing is their reluctance to acknowledge that life came from an Intelligent creator, as they believe that natural processes alone cannot account for it. As Brian Cox asserts, the timeframe during which life can exist is minimal, amounting to barely one-thousandth.
2.
How does the article characterize science and/or scientists?
The article reveals the scientist's lack of integrity. When researchers cannot reach a definitive conclusion in their study, they may present vague findings that need more scientific validity.
3.
What does the article have to say about God or any Scriptures?
It reveals that scientists are in a difficult situation, and the only plausible answer would be the existence of a supernatural Creator or Intelligent Designer. However, he needs to reference the Scriptures.
4.
If you were the one who has spent perhaps your entire life working on this one idea, how would you react to how the Christian article characterizes your work?
Likely, I would respond with similar contempt when I observe their inability to acknowledge the existence of a divine being. However, possessing a genuine scientific mindset that seeks truth, like that of Christians, I would ultimately lend an ear to the perspectives of Christians and act accordingly.
5.
What scientific papers or research ideas are being addressed in the article? The text centers around the concept of Serpentinite-assisted life genesis proposed by evolutionists. It cites Richard Dawkins and Max McClure from Stanford.
6.
What target audience does the paper seem written for? While the text employs scientific terminology, it is intended for a non-expert audience. He provokes hypocritical scientists and encourages all theists to challenge scientists rather than science itself.
7.
If you were not a Christian, how would you react to the article?
I would respond similarly. As previously mentioned, the article provides an opportunity for anyone who holds beliefs in God, god, or gods to substantiate and defend their conviction.

1.
What is your first reaction after reading the article?
Hugh Ross' method is characterized by its expository nature. His lack of antagonism contributes to the smooth flow of the article. He respectfully speaks of the researchers; however, his unwavering stance on the
existence of a highly intelligent, supernatural Being influenced me.
2.
How does the article characterize science and/or scientists?
Ross demonstrates reverence when discussing science and scientists. He introduces them as a panel including four renowned researchers in origin-of-life studies. He elucidates and reveals the happenings of that day directly.
3.
What does the article have to say about God or any Scriptures?
While the writer's religious affiliation is evident, they do not explicitly reference the Scriptures. However, they deliberately chose to capitalize the word "Being," a practice commonly used by Christians when referring to any word associated with God. The enthusiastic conclusion of his speech serves as a source of inspiration for those who have faith in God.
4.
If you were the one who has spent perhaps your entire life working on this one idea, how would you react to how the Christian article characterizes your work?
Despite the same respect it demonstrated towards me, I would likely have concluded the matter differently, considering our differing perspectives.
5.
What scientific papers or research ideas are being addressed in the article? He examines Yoishiro Ueno's hypothesis that life originated 4.4 billion years ago in the Hadean epoch.
6.
What target audience does the paper seem written for? It is intended for individuals who believe in a supernatural deity and are interested in scientific investigations
about the origins of life.
7.
If you were not a Christian, how would you react to the article?
The support for his conclusion needs to be increased. Given his ability to clearly articulate the speaker's stance, it would have been more advantageous to use a direct citation from the Bible. What is the reason behind the expressions of joy and support for God?
