My name is Chrisella Horne. I work for Crump Elementary School inside of Shelby County School District. I would like to inform you about my teaching values and ethics, and I will incorporate them into my lesson while also incorporating the important district policies. My philosophy of education is that “Education is the steppingstone to success by providing various experiences, knowledge and growth that sets students up to more successful adults in life. My job is to follow my philosophy of education by establishing boundaries between me and my students and parents. Understanding the responsibilities, it takes to the best teacher ever. Treating everyone fairly and being able to hold myself accountable for my action as an educator. I have thoroughly look over my district policies and determine how I will hold myself accountable for my action each day. I have chosen various policies that will help me apply to the general ethical and legal responsibilities that I have as a teacher, technology and social media use, the protection of intellectual property rights and cultural awareness. I will be taking one policy from the student section that related to a teacher’s general ethical and legal responsibilities, one policy from the personnel/staff section that related to a teacher’s general ethical and legal responsibilities, one policy from any section that
related to a teacher’s technology, social media and /or electronic devices, one policy from any section that related to intellectual property rights protection and
one policy from any section relating to being culturally aware, supporting diversity
or fostering equity
Teacher General Ethical and Legal Responsibilities (Student Section)
The Code 6019 from the student section that related to a teacher’s general ethical and legal responsibilities states that Students are to be reminded that in exercising their rights they must not interfere with the rights of others, disrupt the educational process, or violate the laws of the Federal, State and local government or the policies of the Shelby County Board of Education. Therefore, the way I will assure this poilcy will be doing my part by granting each student the rights
