curfew rule in the case. 2)

violated her curfew. including the relevant, critical facts in

Chapter
1
(Case 1)
Attended football game – game ended at 9:30 p.m.
Lina went to JJs for Pizza after football game
Lina ignored mom’s phone call
Lina did not get home until 11:05
Lina did not call her mom regarding her plans after game
Yes, although it is not clear from the video on which basis the curfew violation was based. Lina’s mom could be grounding Lina because she came home after 11:00 pm or
because she did not answer her cell phone or
because Lina did not call her after game to let her know she was going to JJs for pizza. It is not clear from the video if her mom is upset about the time or the lack of communication or both. But, Lina was not allowed to go out for the rest of the weekend, which is punishment for violating her curfew.
Chapter 2
(Case 2)
Attended a second football game.
After the game ended Lina called
her mom from her car to tell her that the game just ended, and she was going to JJs for Pizza. She told her mom she will be home right after pizza.
Linas’s mom acknowledged the plans and told her to have fun and drive safely.
Lina did go to JJs as she told her mom for Pizza.
Lina arrived home at 11:05pm.
This week Lina did not violate her mom’s curfew rules. Because she called ahead to tell her mom her plans after the game and during the call her mom did not tell her that she couldn’t go to Pizza after the game or that even though she is going to pizza to be home by a certain time. Even though Lina arrived home at 11:05pm when her mom greeted her she did not chastise her about the time she came in as she did in Chapter 1. Chapter 3
(Case 3)
Lina Attended a 3
rd
football game.
Went to JJs Pizza with Lynn and “closed the place.”
Yes, although from the video I am unsure if Lina knew prior that she had to be home before 12am. When she said “so I cant stay out after midnight.” Lina’s mom did not correct her or indicate you can under certain circumstances. Lina mom also made it clear
Jackson 1
She shared with Lynn she brought a pocketknife.
Waitress came to tell Lina & Lynn that JJs closes at midnight which is in 5 minutes. The time is
around 11:55pm.
Lina arrives home at 12:15am and her mother is upset.
Lina did call before to tell her mom she was going to JJs.
Mom conferred that she has to draw the line due to safety and Lina cannot stay out pass midnight.
that keeping such hours causes a safety issue, which indicates that this is not acceptable.
Chapter 4
(Case 4)
Lina and her mom went to her cousin’s wedding and reception.
They both arrived home at 12:15am.
They stayed at the event even after the band stopped playing.
Important family events may be an exception to the curfew rules.
No, Lina did not violate her curfew this Chapter. This is due to her
being out with the rule maker (aka her mother) and due to this being a family event. From the video it appears that mom has bent the rules to accommodate this special family event.
