Response: This week we studied the first article of faith “We believe in God, the eternal father, and his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.” With this statement being so little there is a lot to talk about and go into. First, the ultimate thing that is understood in this article of faith is talking about the godhead. Along with understanding that the Godhead is
defined as three separate beings. Jeffrey R Holland stated in one of his talks that we truly know these divine beings whom we serve and make certain they are not strangers to us and are never far from the thoughts and intents of our
hearts as stated in (Mosiah 5:13). with this, it is important to know the distinction between each being god, the eternal father, Jesus Christ, and then the Holy Ghost. In (Mosiah 4:9) it goes on to talk about how believing in God and the things that he is, and what he created of all things, both in heaven and earth. Then Lastly, one more important thing is what is mentioned is in the Book of Mormon and that's when it states” By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things” (Moroni 10:5)
Word Count: 210 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World
There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences
of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again.
Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem. If you have another issue that particularly interests you, then choose your own:
abortion
