Where are they headed? Please conduct independent research supporting his statement or research showing his statement has limited merit. Also, include your personal experience as well if you feel it will help address the question. (20 points) 2) According to the segment youth sports is viewed as a ‘booming’ business-how much money is spent on youth sports in a year? Also, what is the dollar amount parents pay annually for their child to compete in youth sports? (5 points) 3) What are the problems associated with in many “skills and excellence” programs? Please review slide 16 in our PowerPoint Presentation (Chapter 4) devoted to “Organized Youth Sports” to address this question. (5 points). 4) Of the problems associated with “organized youth sports”, excluding many young people because of the cost seems to be a major issue as the segment highlights. Why is this occurring? Please cite three (3) examples from the segment. (30 points) 5) The segment talks about how ‘Physical Education” programs have been slashed in public schools. What is your position, are you in agreement with that decision or not? Please explain with a convincing argument (10 points) 6) Who is Dr. John Marschhausen? He provides interesting insight in the segment, what are those insights? Also one of his insights was that he is concerned for the youth that do not have structure and is wondering what he or she is doing from 2:45 P.M. on, what does he mean, what is he worried about? Please provide academic research on what he thinks they may be doing. (10 points) 7) Also from the segment, we learn that childhood obesity is a problem in society.
