MY PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION 1 My Philosophy of Education Montoria Atkinson January 20, 2024 Jackson State University
MY PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION 2 Philosophy of Education Early childhood education is such a wide variety of early education for children 0 to 8 years of age. In this field you are teaching children their first learning of a school and perhaps lifelong lessons. My philosophy of education is simply, “if you can see it you can learn it!” Everyone has the ability to learn even no matter how it is being presented. With four learning styles each child has an ability to learn, weather it is through visual, tactile, kinetic and spatial. Going into this field I knew that I will have many ups and downs when it come to a child education. People have many opinions as to how children learn and they always say it’s through the teacher. I have several reasons as to why it is not just teacher but also the household. Education is an important process that should always be carefully approached by educators. As a future educator, I often think about ways by which I would like to approach the educational process with my students. After careful consideration, I have decided to place emphasis on certain areas. In the household you should make a healthy environment when it comes to having a child present. Within the first early years of life they learn by what they hear and see. As the child that enter the home after the first 24 hours of birth to the world they are learning. Even though a child vision is black and white for the first few months they still have the ability to learn. The household environment should be a learning and loving environment. Beside the household in the classroom is where the concrete learning is taking place. And as a parent you should have very good commutation with the teacher.
MY PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION 3 I believe that all students can learn and are teachable. Since there are different learning styles by which students absorb knowledge, I feel that it will be my duty to have my students assessed to determine the best methods to teach. Once I decide on my teaching methods I can then use these Methods to provide a quality education to my students. Working at a Head Start my teaching experience is with three and four year’s old children. I have been with the company for 5 months as a teacher. I entered this field to make a difference, make some changes and most of bring joy to the children life while learning. It is also my duty to not make sure no one feel left out because of their health conditions or any other problems they may have. As a teacher in this field it is my job to make sure that each child is comfortable and feel the love that all the other children feel. In higher education it helps educators understand their beliefs and values, which in turn shape their teaching practices and interactions with students. Harland and Pickering (2010) argue that an educational philosophy serves as a guiding framework that influences an educator's decision-making process and instructional strategies. By reflecting on their own beliefs and values, educators can gain a deeper understanding of their teaching goals and the impact they strive to have on their students' learning experiences. According to Kezar and Rhoads (2001), aligning teaching practices with one's educational philosophy allows instructors to create a conducive learning environment that caters to the needs of diverse learners. A key aspect of this implementation involves recognizing the importance of student engagement and active participation in the learning process. By incorporating active learning strategies, such as
