Reflection
The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act of 2021 was induced in senate in
March of this year. This bill prohibits the federal government, states, tribal
nations, or localities from discriminating against a child welfare provider
that rejects adoption or foster care to families of a different gender identity
and sexual orientation. Many adoption agencies receive funding from the
federal government. Additionally, many are faith-based organizations and
are against people of a different sexual orientation. This bill protects them
because it prohibits the government from suing them or hold funding from
them. Not having enough money is never a good thing especially when
many orphaned kids are their responsibility so this bill is beneficial to the
agencies and the kids. In contrast, the adoption agencies actions of
discriminating against these types of families is morally wrong. A great
number of same-sex couples are more than happy to adopt or foster a child
and with this act they are being rejected and children are losing a chance to
be with a loving family.
